From the Mouth of Babes... Part II

Scene: a captive audience in the family car

P: Actually, I'm going to open a restaurant called Unicorn Rainbow Valley restaurant. After you eat you get to go see and ride the unicorns.
Dad: Can I eat a unicorn burger there?
P: No
G: She had to kill one and it has pink rainbow icing.

Conclusion: That name is never going to fit on all of our merch.


Scene: In the car

Grace: My friend sleeps at a restaurant.

Conclusion: Find a new daycare


Scene: Potentially still in the car (we get a lot of good material this way as you can see!)

P: Mom, do you know what horses hair smells like?
Mom: No, what?
P: Broccoli

Conclusion: another 'L' in loss column for broccoli


Scene: Grandma & Grandpa's house

P: Grandpa can never go back to work, he's untired.

Conclusion: Part of this statement is true.


Scene: Mom's birthday last month

Dad: How young is mommy today?
P: Twenty nineteen
Mom: Can you even count that high?
P: No

Conclusion: I'm even older than I thought.


Scene: In the car on the way home from school on a sunny day.

Mom: what was your favorite thing at school today?
P: Playing outside with the boys.
Mom: (said hopefully) What did you play soccer?
G: No, we played fight but I didn't hurt anybody.

Conclusion: Start weight and resistance training so fights at school with the boys are more easily won.

Scene: In the car, yet again. It's so much harder for them to run away from the conversations when they are strapped into their car seats via a 5 point harness system.

G: We cuddled up with the boys today (outside)
Mom: How did you do that?
G: We put our heads together and our arms around each other
Mom: You mean huddle up?
G: No, cuddle up.

Conclusion: Crisis averted, chastity belt ordered on Amazon.

I thought this post might be a good place to jump back into blogging which I'm hoping will be much more regular in 2012. I know my two readers would really appreciate that! Hi mom and dad!

From the mouth of babes...

Recently I decided to start writing down all the crazy things the girls have been saying because some of these are too good to be true!

Scene: G and Me at the dinner table

G: "You know one day I had a grape in my chocolate milk."
Mom: "Who put it there?"
G: "Me."


Scene: Before dinner, in the kitchen

G: "Rowan I have a great idea and if it's good we can use it."


Scene: The big girls are learning and wanting to use big/complex words more and more. Most recently it was the word clever, which they mastered pretty quickly. This is what P said as she tried to use a new word.

P: "That hill is responsible."


Scene: At the dinner table

G: "Broccoli is cooked up grass."


Scene: Me talking to P trying to assure her that everything would be fine.

Mom: "Honey, just trust me it'll be okay."
P: "Mommy, I do NOT trust you!"

More to come...guaranteed!

Heck-it

"What the heck-it?!" The big girls picked up this little gem from school.

This phrase could also apply to my lack of posting recently.

Forgive me but we've been on a trip to Ohio (9 hour car ride), had gymnastics every Wednesday night, I'm cooking gourmet meals at home on the weeknights and 3/5's of the Fuller crew had hand, foot and mouth last week. (I might be lying about one of those but I'll let you figure out which one that might be) With that in mind I'll try to post a more complete update as soon as I wash the soap out of Peyton and Grace's mouth.

2011 4th of July Part 2

Now... welcome back.

So the next day we woke up and Rowan went straight to the Jeep.  I told her she could go grab us some Dunkin Donuts and I'd pay but she never took me up on the offer.  Weird, kids love donuts.

 

Then it was time to re-live Mom's childhood!

Go Peyton Go!

It took about a half a day but they finally got it!

Then, to everyone's surprise, Martha Stewart dropped off a 4th of July fruit pizza for us to enjoy!

Thanks Martha! (I'd say it turned out AWESOME if you ask me!)

It was so hot that afternoon we stayed inside and played.  The girls wanted to go out for a bit so we ventured out when it was cloudy.  "Rowan's pool" was still out and based on the limited amount of time she actually played in it when she had her swimsuit on, I knew it would be okay for her to walked around in it with her special 4th of July outfit on - she wasn't going to sit down in it after all.

You'd think after 4.5 years and 3 kids I would know better.

Luckily, the big girls were content with just being sweet that afternoon!

Then I made them jump in the air with their cute little dresses on.  I'm not sure why, other than I'm the mom and I said so.

That night we headed to the Germantown fireworks.  I know Rowan would have loved to see them but the 9:10 start time and having to corral her for a good hour in the mosquito infested parking lot weren't worth the struggle for us or her.  She needed her beauty sleep and next year she'll be a great age to go!

Terrible pictures but you get the idea.  Even blurry, they are still cute!

2011 4th of July Part 1

With Stephen surprising his grandmother in Houston, TX for her 80th birthday party the girls I headed over Grammy & Grandpa's.  They, however, were still getting in from their trip to Maine so even though I made every effort not to be a "single" parent that evening it was still 1 versus 3 - the ultimate zone defense test of courage.

I was feeling frisky so i decided to let the kiddos play in the sprinkler out back.

Even more amazing, I was able to take pictures of the event!

Here's Grace, always willing to squeeze the life out of her sister.

 

Then, like any DSLR camera-toting mother, I made them pose in all their grassy glory. 

(I needed proof that I a.) let them do this and b.) had enough guts to get the pictures!)

Stop Growing

What's with kids growing up so fast? Case in point...

I love this picture for many reasons.

1. Rowan had just learned how to drink from a cup, slowly, for the first three sips. (Sips 4 and after went everywhere.)

2. Rowan wanted to sit in a booster seat and not her high chair, like the big girls.

3. Rowan's genuine smile.

4. Peyton's smirk and the implied smack down if I don't get her another cup of milk right NOW.

5. Grace's face.

And who doesn't love a good b-sgetti face?

 

She HAD to eat with her spoon which is now a battle I refuse to fight.  Let the mopping begin (or start if you ask Stephen).

The big girls decided to come up with a new game.  They have little paddle boards we bought that they were playing with in the pool until one of them decided to do this...

 

It was straight up melee after that! I tried to get as many shots as I could and I have to admit, it was fun to take the pictures. The details my camera got (you might have to click on the picture to make it bigger) were sometimes really cool. Regardless, little kids in mid-air is always a fun picture!

 

 

 

  

It didn't stop the next day either...

  

 

 

Meanwhile, back at the kiddie pool, Rowan remains un-phased...

G & G's Big Backyard

We've had lots of fun in Grandma and Grandpa's big backyard this year so far.  From the sandbox to the pool to the slip-n-slide we've kept Banana Boat in business!

Daddy had a BBQ tournament so Mommy and the girls headed over to Grandma's to play for the weekend!  The girls had fun running around outside.

 

 

I love this picture, not sure why, I just do.

The next morning it was time to SWIM!

5 Peas in a Pod at Nana & Papa's

The summer also brought the cousins together! Aunt Teresa, Uncle Al, Nathan and Baby Matthew all traveled to Nana and Papa's in Collierville for a week of fun! (and no hospital visits this time - yea!)
