Check out these moves!

Rowan was in a great mood this morning (after waking up at 5:15am). How does a 4 month old express her jubilation for the upcoming day? Please see below.

Check out these moves!

I'm not sure if she's dancing or assisting the Memphis International Airport ground crew as they help a 757 taxi in... but whatever it is, it's cute!

Rowan's 1st zoo trip

We headed to the Memphis Zoo recently for Rowan's first visit. She really wanted to see all of Peyton and Grace's family and the only time the monkey's are out is in the morning before it gets hot.

So we decided to tell the girls we were going to a store that morning. Daddy put some Toy Story 2 on in the truck for their viewing pleasure. Once we arrived, Grace was the first to realize we weren't at the store... we were at the Zoo (aka home). Peyton quickly caught on and squeals ensued.

Rowan had on her hat and was sitting up like a big girl in the stroller.

She was THRILLED to be at the Zoo, can't you tell?

Actually, here is some proof she really did have a good time.

The girls needed some hats as well so Daddy stopped by the gift shop...

... and two red hats later we were ready to!

Here's Peyton and Grace checking out the flamingo's.

Daddy and the girls leading the way to Teton Trek.

By the time we made it to the Teton Trek, Rowan had had enough.

My secret for a baby that sleeps the night... check out those thighs!
She could sleep for a week if she wanted to!

Also at Teton Trek, one of the sweetest moments to date of the big girls.

Grace put her arm around Peyton and they stood like that for a minute or two.
I think/hope they realize how lucky they are to have one another.

On our way out we stopped by the monkeys where Mommy actually got in front of the camera for a change.

All in all, a great morning at the Zoo and an even better time hanging out as a family of five!

Where's Grace?

Peyton takes a moment to ponder, "where's Grace?"...

Playing croquet in the backyard of course!

Croquet Anyone?

Grace enjoying some 4th of July croquet this morning...

Fun with iPhone Apps!

Here is Rowan at the doctor a week ago. And here is Mommy playing with her new photo app - MoreNoel. Even better, it's free!

3's pictures

About 3 weeks ago I talked my mom into helping me take all three girls to Portrait Innovations at the Collierville mall. I just wanted some pictures to simply mark the ages of 3 months and 3 years. I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Here are some of the shots we got (thanks to the CD they give you of all the pictures! Did I mention I was pleasantly surprised?)

All three girls.

Big shout out to David and Maureen who got us these awesome shirts/outfit!

Thing 1 and Thing 2.

Thing 3

The photographer yelled, "Give me stoic!"

I think Peyton nailed it!

Grace following directions and smiling.

I think this is one of the first pieces of evidence we have of this phenomenon.

Here is Rowan with the sweet dress "Aunt" Steffie and "Uncle Rob" gave her.

We have teeth, see!

And what exactly are you looking at?

I will fight you if necessary.

Proud big sisters!

Make it stop!

She's growing up WAY too fast and Mommy and Daddy don't like it!

And so it begins...

After a visit to the doctor yesterday we learned Rowan has joined the
ranks. She has her first ear infection. Luckily, she's happy as a
clam! In other news, our 14 week old (today!) weighs 15 pounds and 12
ounces! No wonder she can fit into those Carter's 6 month onesies...

Spring Fun!

With six days left of spring here in Memphis and heat advisories already issued, the girls have taken to the outdoors of late. Here are some pictures from the last couple weeks.

Playing with bubbles at Nana & Popa's house

Peyton gettin' at it!

Grandma & Grandpa got a sandbox for the girls this summer.

We aren't quite convinced they realize once they pour the sand out, it's not going back in.
Big thanks to Grandpa who keeps filling it up!

They also got a new pool this summer for the girls (and Grandma).
And apparently Daddy as well!

We have been to the water spray park a couple times already and the girls have had a blast. They are much more willing to get wet than in previous years.

Watch out Peyton!
(or is it Watch out Grace!? I don't know.)

Nope, it didn't turn on while they were hovering over it...
...yes, that would have been awesome.

I asked them to pose for a nice picture on the bench and this is what I get...

I have NO idea what they are doing here but this is another one of those pictures we plan to show any suitors who come knocking (in 31 1/2 years)...

And yes, they are wearing the exact same thing which rarely happens. Since I took them by myself I needed every advantage I could get in watching them. Having them in the same suit makes this exercise of herding wet cats slightly easier.

We FINALLY made it to My Big Backyard. It seems like this is a must for any and all stay-at-home moms in the Memphis area and since my time as a stay-at-home mom was ending I figured we had to go. Luckily my mom was there to help corral, document, and dry off the girls as we tried to keep them in line. As you can tell, we were only somewhat successful.

We were unprepared and left the Crocs at home not realizing you can walk in the stream. Of course we told them they couldn't go in at first. Then Grace decided to step into the water with her tennis shoes anyway. I love the independence of a three year old! (insert sarcasm here)

So I did what any cool (i.e. stupid) mom would have done and said "Go for it!", we did bring towels after all.
That was about 30 seconds before Peyton fell and tripped while standing/floating in the stream. Doh!
You know Grace followed... GraceFul(ler)

To infinity... and beyond!

Some friendly sack races. This lasted about 45 seconds...

Rowan wasn't having it.

She actually did great and was a trooper while her big sisters were complete hoodlums.

And last but not least, while they BOTH look cute, I think Grace looks like a supermodel in this picture.
I think it's the pose, and of course, her inherited good looks.

...I also think it's time we set up our appointment with the nuns at the convent.

Our Kids Say The Darndest Things: Part 1

The girls having speaking in sentences it seems like forever. Between the constant "mama's" and heart-melting "I love you's", Stephen and I have noticed a couple funny variations on some common words. Below is the start of a list I'm sure we will add to as time goes on.

Sidenote: We'll be sharing these gems with any and all boys they bring over once they hit our set dating age of 35.

The classic: Bsketti
